Acoustic Control’s design goes online! – “Bangalore International Airport now re-named “Kempegowda Int’l Airport” – Acoustic and Audio Consulting

Besides sporting its new name Karnataka Chief minister Siddaramaiah and civil aviation minister Ajit Singh Inaugurated the new-look Terminal 1 (T1A) , The new-look TIA includes a host of new facilities and services for passengers and partners that include great acoustics and a spanking new PA system The expanded terminal spanning over 1.5 lakh sq m. , will have more than twice the current floor area and is designed to accommodate burgeoning traffic.

Acoustic Control was commissioned as Acoustic Consultants to design the new acoustics and a matching state of the art PA system.

The airport’s new communications system comprises a software-based IDX system core and paging interface, State of the art Beam Steering Speakers form Renkus Heinz were deployed as well as JBL    speakers, CROWN amplification, AKG noise sensing microphones and BSS BLU audio processing.

The system is a fully managed digital notification system that seamlessly combines audio and visual messaging systems with the airport IT LAN and provides operators with an effective interface for managing complex, rapidly-changing travel information including gate information, boarding details and life safety protocol in the unlikely event of emergencies.

The deployment provides the airport with a highly flexible and scalable solution that can support the airport’s current requirements of Terminal 1 and future expansion plans. This is a landmark installation, as it is not only the first HARMAN IDX Information Delivery System installation at an international airport in India, but also the first IDX system deployment in Asia.
